Royal Caribbean reported in talks for half of Sandals
Royal Caribbean is in talks to take a 50% stake in Sandals Resorts International, according to a Skift podcast discussion of the week's resort M&A. The report is early and unconfirmed in the material we have, and no terms were given.
For advisors who sell Sandals heavily, the open questions are commercial. A cruise parent could change how Sandals is packaged alongside sailings, and it could affect agent programs, commission structure and inventory. Nothing has been announced on any of these.
Until there is a confirmed deal, there is no reason to change how current Sandals bookings are handled. Watch for supplier communications on agent programs if talks turn into an announcement.
IHG–Chase refresh: new Premier Select card, higher fee on Premier
IHG and Chase are refreshing the co-brand card lineup and launching a Premier Select card. The Premier card's fee rises to $150, and its included status drops to Gold. The card's free night certificate rises to 50,000 points. A fourth-night-free benefit unlocks with $5,000 in spend from 2027. Sign-up bonuses run to Nov 18.
For advisors, this changes the redemption math for clients who hold the Premier card. Clients who valued the status or the free night should be asked whether the higher fee and the new spend threshold still make sense, and whether the new Select card suits them better. Counsel on card strategy before the Nov 18 bonus window closes.
ALL Accor+ Explorer sign-up bonus runs through Oct 31
Accor's ALL Accor+ Explorer subscription is carrying new regional pricing and a sign-up promotion: 3,000 bonus points, roughly €60 in value, for joining between Oct 1 and Oct 31. The package also includes 30 elite nights, 2-4-1 vouchers and a 15% rate plan.
The offer is most relevant to Accor-loyal clients heading to Asia-Pacific or the Middle East, where the vouchers and rate plan are likelier to be used. Check the regional price before recommending it, since pricing now varies by market.
Mandarin Oriental flag at a Boca Raton condo is in question
The Palm Beach Post reports that the Mandarin Oriental–branded condo in Boca Raton has rebuffed its lender, raising the question of whether the hotel brand will stay. The headline is the only detail available to us, so the scope of the dispute and any timeline are unknown.
The case is a reminder that branded residences carry flag risk when financing disputes arise. Advisors with luxury clients booking or considering the property should confirm current brand status before committing.
Shangri-La, Pan Pacific and Leela set out Asia and Gulf growth
Three Asia-rooted chains reported pipelines this week, all with long lead times.
- Shangri-La: with SM Prime, a 90-key resort called Shangri-La Santelmo Cove in Batangas, Philippines, slated for 2031.
- Pan Pacific Hotels Group: 10 new-build and renovation projects across Southeast Asia in 2027, including Pan Pacific debuts in Bangkok and Phnom Penh and reworks of several Parkroyal properties. Renovations may disrupt 2027 inventory.
- Leela Palaces: a Palm Jumeirah, Dubai resort planned for 2028, its first international project, as the company grows from 8 to 15 hotels.
The Pan Pacific list is the most immediate for advisors selling Southeast Asia in 2027.

Hilton–Turkish Airlines promo pays up to 6,000 Miles&Smiles
Hilton and Turkish Airlines are offering up to 6,000 bonus Miles&Smiles on top of Honors points across three stays, Oct 1 to Dec 31. Guests must register by Nov 30, and the offer applies only to bookings made through Hilton's direct channels.
That limits its use for advisor-booked stays. It is a minor perk for clients who book direct.
