IHG's Chase refresh: higher fee, lower status on the Premier card
IHG and Chase are refreshing their co-brand cards and launching a Premier Select card. The Premier card fee rises to $150, and the status it includes drops from Platinum to Gold. The free-night award rises to 50K points. The fourth-night-free benefit becomes reachable on the fee-free card from 2027.
The value story advisors give clients changes. Cardholders who counted on automatic Platinum from the Premier card will need to re-run the math. The fee-free card gets more useful for clients who stay occasionally. Sign-up bonuses of 125K–200K points run through Nov 18, so any client weighing a card has a deadline.

Royal Caribbean reportedly in talks for half of Sandals
Royal Caribbean is reportedly in talks to take a 50% stake in Sandals Resorts International. The report comes from a Skift podcast roundup and is unconfirmed. If it goes ahead, a cruise operator would own a large share of the Caribbean's dominant all-inclusive brand, a segment advisors rely on heavily.
No terms or timeline are available. Advisors should watch for cross-selling, loyalty tie-ins, and any change to commission or supplier policy. Nothing changes for current bookings today.
Mandarin Oriental's Boca Raton branding in question
The Palm Beach Post reports that the Mandarin Oriental-branded condo in Boca Raton has rebuffed its lender, and asks whether the hotel brand will stay at the property. A lender dispute at a branded project puts the flag at risk.
Advisors with clients booked or planning stays there should monitor the situation. A de-branding could change inventory, amenities and any luxury-program benefits attached to Mandarin Oriental. No change has been announced.
Kempinski names a new CFO
Kempinski Group has appointed a new Chief Financial Officer. The source gives little detail, so this is a watch item rather than a signal. A finance-chief change can precede shifts in strategy or capital allocation, but nothing here says so. We will flag any follow-up on the group's plans.
Shangri-La, Pan Pacific and Leela add Asian and Gulf inventory
Shangri-La and SM Prime plan a 90-key luxury eco-resort, Shangri-La Santelmo Cove, in Batangas, Philippines, targeted for 2031. It is a long-dated destination signal only.
Closer in, Pan Pacific Hotels Group plans 10 new-build and renovation projects across Southeast Asia in 2027. They include bringing the Pan Pacific flag to Bangkok and Phnom Penh and renovating several Parkroyal properties.
Leela Palaces is growing from 8 to 15 operating hotels, with 10 more in development. Its first international resort is planned for Palm Jumeirah in Dubai in 2028. Advisors selling luxury India or Southeast Asia should expect new and refreshed product.
October loyalty offers: Accor sign-up, Hilton–Turkish, and point conversions
ALL Accor+ Explorer has a 3,000-point sign-up bonus through Oct 31. The bundle includes 2-for-1 dining and drink vouchers, 30 bonus elite nights and access to a 15% off rate plan. Pricing is updated across APAC and the Middle East, which suits clients heading to Fairmont, Raffles and Sofitel.
Hilton and Turkish Airlines offer up to 6,000 Miles&Smiles bonus miles for stays through Dec 31. Registration is required by Nov 30, and the offer applies only to Hilton direct bookings, so advisor-booked stays may not qualify.
Conversion bonuses run through October. Air Canada Aeroplan gives 15% on Bonvoy transfers. Hilton, IHG, Choice and Accor are excluded from that bonus. Qatar's Privilege Club offers 15%–35% on Avios conversions. These are marginal gains for clients with stranded hotel points.
