Isaias bears down on the northern Gulf; Carnival watching six ships
Hurricane Isaias is an 80 mph storm forecast to reach about 105 mph, with landfall expected near the Alabama/Florida Panhandle line around Oct 9-10. Hurricane Warnings run from Ocean Springs, MS, to Bay/Gulf County, FL. The track crosses routes linking the Eastern and Western Caribbean with the Galveston and New Orleans homeports.
Carnival has flagged Breeze, Dream and Jubilee (Galveston), Liberty and Valor (New Orleans) and Paradise (Tampa) for sailings between Oct 3 and Oct 11, covering 12 sailings in all. Valor's Oct 8 departure is the likeliest first itinerary change.
For advisors: expect reroutes, port substitutions and embarkation changes. Contact Gulf-sailing clients now, confirm travel insurance and flight flexibility, and check Carnival's notices before clients leave for the port.
Carnival Corp. reshuffles Arcadia and Queen Anne for 2029
Arcadia will leave P&O Cruises for Holland America Line in 2029. HAL grows from 11 to 12 ships, adding roughly 2,000 berths, once the ship has been refurbished under the Evolution program. Cunard's newest ship, Queen Anne, goes to P&O in May 2029, renamed and redesigned, after the 2028-29 World Cruise.
For advisors: anyone selling Cunard World Cruises or HAL 2029-30 deployments should expect itinerary and product changes as the moves take shape. The addition may also hint at further HAL newbuild plans. These are long-lead changes, but they affect capacity across three brands and are worth flagging to repeat clients.
Disney Believe sails from Port Everglades; bookings open Oct 19
Disney's fourth Wish-class ship, Disney Believe, will debut Dec 18, 2027, from Port Everglades. It will sail 4- and 5-night Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries. Bookings open Oct 19, 2026.
For advisors: Disney sales tend to open in tight windows, and a new ship draws heavy family demand. Line up client lists, group requests and payment details before Oct 19 so you can book on opening day.
Carnival tightens minor guest rules for new bookings
For bookings made on or after Oct 1, 2026, Carnival requires guests aged 15-20 to stay in a stateroom no more than three cabins from their responsible adult. Group chaperone ratios tighten from 1:8 to 1:5.
For advisors: this changes how you book college-age travelers, youth groups and multi-cabin families. Cabin blocks may need to be reconfigured, and clients should hear about the rules before they book, not at embarkation.
Carnival Spirit repair stop trims two Seattle sailings
An unscheduled repair stop in Honolulu means Carnival Spirit returns to Seattle a day late. Current guests lose the Victoria call. The next sailing loses a full day and its Cabo San Lucas visit.
For advisors: expect compensation inquiries from clients on both sailings. Check air and hotel connections for the late arrival and the shortened follow-on cruise, and adjust where needed.
Galveston explores a fifth cruise terminal with Royal Caribbean
Galveston's port CEO says trustees want talks with Royal Caribbean on a fifth cruise terminal to continue without delay. The talks are at an early stage, and nothing is confirmed.
For advisors: a fifth terminal would add capacity at the port and could mean more or larger Royal Caribbean deployments from Texas. That matters for Gulf-market sellers watching homeport competition.
