Kosher grab-and-go returns to Miami and expands at Fort Lauderdale
Certified kosher meals are again sold past security at Miami International. Locations are Hudson Gate D-37, Miami News Connection J-7 and Coconut Grove News. Miami has had no kosher meals since 2023. Fort Lauderdale now has three Hudson locations selling them.
For advisors, this fills a gap for winter-season clients routing through South Florida, including cruise and hotel clients. They can now be told they have a pre-boarding meal option at both airports. It is worth confirming current stock and hours with the vendors before promising it for a specific itinerary.
Airbnb's new house rules take effect for bookings from Nov. 20
Airbnb is overhauling its house-rules policy. Hosts can no longer demand cleaning chores, impose fines, or add rules outside the designated house-rules section. They must also show an overnight-guest cap up front.
This matters for group rentals such as simchas, reunions and Yeshiva Week stays, where listings can be vetted more reliably. Check the guest cap first, because house rules are binding once a booking is made. Bookings made before Nov. 20 fall outside the new regime, so advisors may want to review the listing terms on those more closely.
Israel votes Oct. 27 amid warnings of Iranian or proxy attacks
Defense Minister Katz and Prime Minister Netanyahu are warning of possible Iranian or proxy attacks before or during the Oct. 27 election. Netanyahu says he has ordered the Mossad and IDF to work toward toppling the Iranian regime, and denies reports that Trump blocked an Israeli strike. Israeli intelligence reportedly told the US that Hamas has rebuilt its forces and is preparing for another war.
None of this announces a concrete travel restriction. Still, advisors with Israel-bound clients, including Sukkot-to-winter travelers and early Pesach 2027 bookings, should review cancellation and insurance terms. They should also watch for airline or advisory changes.
Orthodox man stabbed in Diamond District; hate-crime probe under way
A 26-year-old Crown Heights man was stabbed on 47th Street in midtown Manhattan on Oct. 21. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating. Reporting notes that Jews are targeted in over half of NYC hate crimes this year, and Bronx officials have also criticized a planned anti-Zionist protest in Riverdale.
There is no direct supplier impact. Advisors with visibly Orthodox clients traveling to or through New York should share current safety guidance.
Atlanta gets a kosher coffeehouse on the BeltLine
Milk & Maple holds its grand opening Nov. 1 at Chabad Intown, near Ponce City Market. It is supervised by the Atlanta Kashruth Commission and is chalav Yisrael and pat Yisrael. It is closed on Shabbat.
The commercial impact is small. It does give Atlanta-bound kosher clients a walkable daytime stop on the BeltLine.
