Calendars Shift in Orlando While Margaritaville Widens Its Footprint

Disney has confirmed that guests at Lakeshore Lodge, the new Bay Lake resort opening July 1, 2027, will get complimentary water park admission on check-in day. For family sellers, it is a concrete value point for summer 2027 bookings.

Disney has not yet announced summer 2027 dates for the perk. The 2026 version ran May 26 through Sept 8. Advisors can start positioning July 2027 arrivals, but should not promise the perk for specific dates until Disney publishes them.

This weekend: For Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend, EPCOT opens at 10 a.m. on Oct 23 and Oct 25, with resort early entry at 9:30. Clients in the parks lose roughly an hour of EPCOT time, and Sunday brings heavy early-morning road closures. Warn arriving families now and suggest moving EPCOT days where the itinerary allows.

Nov 10–11: Disney has added daytime performances of Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade at 2 p.m. The parade is normally tied to the separately ticketed party, so these shows may draw crowds into regular Magic Kingdom admission. They may also be filming for a Disney Christmas special. Advisors with crowd-averse clients can steer them to other parks on those two days.

Universal Orlando's closure schedule affects holiday and winter family trips. The Hogwarts Express park-to-park train stops running Nov 4. Jurassic Park River Adventure at Islands of Adventure stays closed until Dec 16. Several other closures run into 2027.

Advisors with Universal clients arriving in those windows should set expectations early, especially for park-to-park ticket holders who may be counting on the train. Check each client's dates against the full closure list before confirming holiday packages.

Margaritaville Jamaica plans a public equity offering within 90 days. The move signals confidence in the 2026/27 winter season. The recovery from Hurricane Melissa is still incomplete, though. Sangster airport traffic is down 17%, and about 3,500 hotel rooms remain out of service.

Advisors selling Jamaica to families should verify the status of each specific resort and expect tighter room inventory than in a normal winter.

Margaritaville at Sea's largest ship, Beachcomber, begins sailing from Miami in January 2027. It repositions to Galveston next October, which widens short-cruise options for the Texas market. The line is small, but the new ship adds inventory. Advisors can start building group and family blocks for the ship.
