Oasis of the Seas swapped to Halifax-only itinerary as storm builds
Royal Caribbean replaced the Oct. 18 Oasis of the Seas sailing from Cape Liberty, which was due to call at Port Canaveral, CocoCay and Nassau, with a single Halifax call because of an East Coast storm. The line has since extended the Halifax stay to 6 p.m. on Oct. 21.
Compensation includes refundable onboard credit set by stateroom category and a 50% future cruise credit per paid guest. Advisors with clients aboard should walk them through those terms. Clients on upcoming Northeast sailings should hear that weather contingencies are in play. This is the ship's second weather disruption this fall.

Denmark's proposed 200 DKK cruise tax draws industry warning
Denmark plans a 200 DKK per-passenger cruise tax, expected to raise about 300 million DKK a year. Industry groups say it would be among the highest in Europe and could push ships away from Danish and Baltic ports.
It is still a proposal. If it advances, lines may adjust 2027–2028 Baltic itineraries or pass the cost to fares, which would affect Northern Europe bookings and port-fee line items.
Seattle closes Alaska season at 330 calls, short of forecast
Seattle recorded 330 ship calls and nearly 2 million revenue passengers in 2026, below the 2.1 million forecast. MSC and Virgin Voyages homeported there for the first time. The port hosted 16 ships across 10 brands.
Growing capacity alongside demand slightly under forecast points to competitive Alaska pricing. Seattle remains a key embarkation port for 2027 planning.
