Itineraries get rewritten and deadlines close, while Royal Caribbean opens its next booking windows

The Sept 20 Oasis of the Seas sailing from Cape Liberty has lost its Orlando/Port Canaveral call after a double medical emergency involving a child. The ship now goes straight to Perfect Day CocoCay on Sept 23. Embarkation has moved to a 6:00 p.m. earliest arrival.

Royal Caribbean is paying non-refundable onboard credit per stateroom. Prepaid Orlando tours are refunded as OBC. Flights by Royal bookings are re-timed automatically, but clients who booked air on their own must change it themselves.

Advisors with clients on this sailing should call them before check-in. Confirm the new arrival time, and flag any independent flights and any Orlando plans built around the lost port.

Carnival's promotion (rate code PBG) closes today, Sept 21. It covers 98 sailings on 48 itineraries through March 2027. Departure ports are Miami, Port Canaveral, Tampa, Mobile, Baltimore, Galveston and Long Beach.

The offer includes 50% off deposits. That deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable, and the offer is for new bookings only.

The catch is the category. It applies to guarantee categories OV/BL, so cabins are assigned by the line and may have partially or fully obstructed views. Set that expectation with clients before you book, and confirm they are comfortable with a guarantee and a deposit they can't get back. Any booking has to be made today.

Royal Caribbean has released its first 2028–2029 deployment calendar with phased booking dates. Only a few opening dates are published so far, and the rest of the release schedule is still to come. Advisors can start wait-lists and client outreach for Alaska, Europe and Caribbean 2028 sailings before inventory opens. Early access usually decides who gets early-booking demand and group space. The line also says it has begun building its fifth Icon-class ship.

The nearer-term date is Nov 11. The third Icon-class ship, Legend of the Seas, will be christened on Veterans Day at Port Everglades, and the line has named her godmother. Legend then repositions from Europe to Port Everglades in early November for winter 6- and 8-night Western and Southern Caribbean sailings. Every sailing calls at Perfect Day CocoCay. The Veterans Day naming may suit military and family groups.

Silversea's Silver Moon stayed in Tokyo as Typhoon Dujuan approached. Departure moved from Sept 19 to Sept 21. Hiroshima is cancelled, and the Osaka, Kochi and Miyako calls are re-timed. Busan, Kanazawa and Hakodate are unchanged.

Silversea has cancelled its own Hiroshima and Osaka tours, with rebooking available for Osaka. No compensation has been announced.

This is a luxury sailing, outside the core mass and premium segment. Advisors with Japan clients on this ship or nearby sailings should watch for compensation news or further changes. The same typhoon could also affect other lines' fall itineraries in Japan.

Royal Caribbean's updated drink policy has been in place for under a month. Under it, couples with different drinking needs can request an exemption from the rule that both adults in a stateroom buy a package. The needs named include pregnancy, disability or a medical condition.

Feedback so far is early and anecdotal. The source gives no detail on how exemptions are requested or approved, so check the process with the line before promising a result. Still, the option is worth knowing about when a client raises the two-adult package requirement as a reason not to book.
