Ultra-luxury lines reshape the product: Antarctic land access, new suite tiers and included dining

Lindblad has paid about $61M in cash for 60% of White Desert, the operator of Antarctic interior and South Pole programs, and its 12-guest DC-3 aviation product, Echo Charlie. A fly-in Antarctic land product now sits under the Lindblad/National Geographic umbrella, so advisors should expect ship-plus-interior packages and cross-selling.

The company also raised 2026 tour revenue guidance to $850–880M and adjusted EBITDA guidance to $140–148M. That points to strong polar demand and firm pricing.

What is not yet public: commission terms and how the two products will be distributed. Ask the supplier before quoting White Desert programs as part of a Lindblad package. Analyst coverage has turned more positive alongside the strong second quarter, but that is a market signal rather than a booking one.

Silversea is introducing four categories across its suite collection. Categories set fare tiers, upgrade paths and inventory, so this touches how advisors quote and compare suites on every booking.

Silversea delayed Silver Moon's departure from Tokyo by two days, to 9pm today, September 21, because of Typhoon Dujuan. The 14-night Japan itinerary has been rebuilt:

• Hiroshima is cancelled.
• The Osaka overnight becomes an 11-hour call on September 23.
• Kochi moves back a day.
• Miyako gains an hour.

Advisors with clients aboard, or on the next sailings, should expect disappointment over Hiroshima and questions about compensation or onboard credit. Seabourn Encore will sail 18 Alaska and British Columbia departures in 2027, running 7 to 15 days from May to September. A 7-night Denali land program starts in Anchorage for southbound guests and covers hotel, meals, rail, flightseeing and transfers.
