China and Egypt lead G Adventures' 2027 watch list; eclipse and visa changes drive early demand
G Adventures' 2027 watch list, released this week, puts numbers on where its Canadian customers are heading. Bookings to China are up 163%, helped by 30-day visa-free entry and nine new itineraries, with new departures starting in March 2027. Egypt is up 106%, tied to the total solar eclipse over Luxor in August 2027. Among the Balkans and Central Asia, Albania is up 117%, Bosnia 83%, Uzbekistan 66%, Kyrgyzstan 29% and Norway 23%.
Two supply details matter for advisors. The Stans is the most-booked region on the new National Geographic Signature line. Vietnam now has 15 new itineraries after the expanded Canada–Vietnam air agreement.
What to do: Eclipse-season Egypt and the first China departures are the likeliest to sell out early, so hold space now. These are operator-reported, Canadian-market figures. Treat them as demand signals, not market-wide data.
