Riyadh airport closed; Delta pushes its launch to March 2027
Riyadh airport is closed until Sunday, and cancellations are possible at other Saudi airports, following missile and drone strikes. Delta has postponed its Atlanta–Riyadh launch for the third time, to March 27, 2027.
For advisors: check any client with Saudi or wider Gulf hotel stays, including at Kempinski, Mandarin Oriental and Anantara properties. Confirm flight status, ask about rebooking and review hotel and supplier cancellation terms. Do not count on Delta as a routing option into Riyadh before spring 2027.
Minor Hotels signs Anantara Retreat Rabat and a Hyderabad resort
Minor Hotels has signed the Anantara Retreat Rabat, its first property in Morocco. The 38-key retreat is slated to open in early 2030. Separately, Minor signed a 185-key Anantara resort near Hyderabad for 2029, in support of its goal of 50 Indian hotels within a decade.
Both are long-dated pipeline, so nothing is bookable soon. They do show Anantara widening its footprint in markets where luxury advisors increasingly field requests. Keep them on the radar for clients who follow the brand.
Mandarin Oriental breaks ground in Miami
Mandarin Oriental has broken ground on its Miami hotel and branded residences at Brickell Key, developed with Swire Properties. The two-tower project has recorded more than $1.7B in residential sales. It brings the brand back to Miami, giving luxury advisors a future flagship in a top client market.
Mandarin also has 20 more residential projects planned through 2031, which signals continued emphasis on branded residences as a growth engine.
Kempinski readies Prague and launches an experiential access program
Kempinski Augustine Hotel Prague, a 101-room monastery conversion, is due to open in early 2027. It reflects a strategy of building a curated collection rather than a loosely distributed soft brand.
Separately, Kempinski's new E.R.A.s access program launches at Munich's Vier Jahreszeiten. It gives advisors a bookable experiential hook for European luxury clients.

Loyalty fine print: Marriott elite counts, Accor Explorer pricing, October promos
At the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, the front desk displays how many elites are arriving. It is a growing trend at Marriott properties. Set realistic expectations on upgrades and late checkout for Bonvoy elites, and lean on advisor-program amenities.
Accor raised the ALL Accor+ Explorer price this month, but auto-renewing members get one more renewal at the old price plus 3,000 bonus points. Advise Accor-loyal clients to leave auto-renew on.
A separate roundup covers October promotions at Hyatt, Choice, Wyndham, Radisson, GHA and Best Western, useful hooks for trips booked this month.
