Hurricane Simon cuts Voyager's Mexican Riviera cruise to one port
Voyager of the Seas' 8-night Mexican Riviera sailing has been changed a second time. Hurricane Simon, a Category 3 storm with 115 mph winds near Cabo Corrientes, has forced Royal Caribbean to drop Puerto Vallarta. The cruise is now down to one port, Cabo, which the ship visits twice.
Royal Caribbean is offering onboard credit of $50 for inside and oceanview cabins, $100 for balcony and $250 for suites. It is also offering 20% off Cabo excursions.
The NHC outlook shows a second system, EP93, forecast to form almost certainly within a day or so south of Mexico. Further changes are possible. Advisors with clients on Mexican Riviera sailings this week should check itineraries now and set expectations before departure or embarkation.
- Onboard credit: $50 inside/oceanview, $100 balcony, $250 suite
- 20% off Cabo excursions
- EP93 could affect other Mexican Pacific sailings
NCL phishing emails use accurate booking details
Norwegian Cruise Line is investigating scam emails that include guests' real names, ships, sail dates, booking numbers and amounts paid. The emails ask for card verification and threaten cancellation if the guest doesn't comply.
NCL has sent a letter to advisors and posted a website notice. It will also warn guests sailing within 30 days. The line has not said how the data was obtained, and some guests suspect a breach.
Advisors should warn NCL clients now and expect calls. Because the details look legitimate, clients may also doubt genuine NCL messages, so tell them how NCL will contact them.
Oasis of the Seas runs late again at Cape Liberty
A medical debarkation in Nassau delayed Oasis of the Seas' Oct. 11 return by 3.5 hours. That pushed back check-in for the next sailing and shortened its Port Canaveral call. It is the second Oasis delay in under a month.
Royal Caribbean will reimburse flight change fees up to $200 per person for domestic flights and $400 for international.
Advisors should steer Oasis clients away from tight same-day flights, either by booking Flights by Royal or by leaving a buffer.
Royal ONE Visa offers 10% off Celebrity
Royal Caribbean Group's Royal ONE Visa now carries a cardholder offer of 10% off Celebrity Cruises sailings. Clients who hold the card may compare it with advisor-booked fares.
The source gives few details. Advisors should confirm whether the discount stacks with commissionable fares and agency-booked pricing before the conversation comes up.
Carnival Corp books yard time with Seatrium; Venezia gets Carnival colors
Carnival Corporation and Seatrium have extended their partnership with a renewed Favoured Customer Contract. Three Carnival Corp vessels have yard work scheduled this quarter. The source does not name the ships, so check brand notices for dry-dock changes before confirming bookings.
Separately, Carnival Venezia's funnel was repainted from Costa yellow to Carnival red, white and blue on Oct. 9. That suggests the ship is staying in the Carnival fleet long term. Some online speculation says the 'Fun Italian Style' branding may change, but Carnival has not confirmed this. Avoid promising specifics until it does.
Half Moon Cay's new pier changes the Bahamas comparison with Celebration Key
A new 1,005-foot pier at RelaxAway Half Moon Cay lets larger Carnival ships dock instead of tender, and a tram service is new. Celebration Key expands to four berths in 2026.
For positioning, Half Moon Cay is the beach-focused, low-key option. Celebration Key is the resort-style option, with an adults-only Pearl Cove Beach Club. Match the choice to the client's preferred pace.
