Disney World's 2027 promo: up to $250 a night off select packages
Disney World has opened a room-and-ticket promotion for Jan. 3 to Jul. 28, 2027 stays. It discounts select 4-night/4-day packages at Disney Resorts Collection hotels by up to $250 a night. Separate room-only offers run through Apr. 29: up to 25% off generally, 30% for Disney Visa cardmembers and 35% for Annual Passholders.
The wording matters. "Up to" and "select" limit who qualifies and which room categories and dates get the deepest cut. Price the exact itinerary against each offer, and against the passholder and Visa tiers where a client holds one, before quoting. This is the earliest pricing lever for spring 2027 family trips, including Flower & Garden and After Hours travel.
Thanksgiving week: Magic Kingdom closes at 6 p.m. on three days
For Nov. 22–28, Magic Kingdom closes to regular guests at 6 p.m. on Nov. 24, 25 and 27 for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Guests without party tickets have to leave. Early Entry is currently 8:30 a.m.
For advisors, that leaves four full-length days in the week. Steer families with no party tickets toward those days, and plan the other days around other parks. Expect Lightning Lane pricing to sit at peak levels. Q3 results (attendance up 3%, per-capita spending up 4%) point to firm holiday demand, so clients who haven't booked should decide soon.
Disney Believe's first gigablock floats out; San Diego sailings posted through spring 2028
Disney Believe's midship section, which includes the Grand Hall, floated out at Meyer Werft on Sept. 18. The forward and aft gigablocks follow. The milestone keeps the fifth Wish-class ship on track for a late-2027 debut. Encanto, Moana and Little Mermaid themed venues are the family selling points. It's a reason to open booking-window and itinerary-release conversations with families now.
Disney Cruise Line has also published San Diego sailings through spring 2028. Wonder and Magic run 3- to 7-night Baja and Mexican Riviera itineraries, including Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime dates. Two 14-night eastbound Panama Canal repositionings end in Galveston. The 3-night sailings suit multi-gen weekend trips, and West Coast families can drive to the ship.
WSOP Paradise takes over Baha Mar Dec. 2–17
The WSOP Paradise poker festival runs at Baha Mar from Dec. 2 to 17. It carries a $120M guarantee and a $50M Super Main Event, and participants get discounted rates.
The event is likely to bring heavy group demand for two weeks in early December. That plausibly tightens family room availability and raises rates for those dates. This is our inference from the event's scale, not a supplier statement. Advisors with holiday-season Baha Mar clients should confirm inventory and connecting-room availability early, or consider shifting dates.
Universal: Animal Actors closes Nov. 2, Kong finale figure missing, Hollywood Drift opens
Universal Studios Florida will permanently close Animal Actors On Location! on Nov. 2. The show has run since the park opened in 1990, and an unannounced new experience will replace it. It is already on limited hours, and Halloween Horror Nights' 5 p.m. daytime closure may cut performances further. Families with young children should aim for daytime visits.
Islands of Adventure: Skull Island: Reign of Kong reopened Sept. 18 after a closure since late August. The Kong animatronic is missing and black curtains cover its spot. Universal said the figure was damaged in maintenance, and a fire department report documents an animatronic fire on Aug. 27. Universal hasn't said the removal is permanent. Set expectations with clients who are coming for the finale.
Universal Studios Hollywood: Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a 72 mph spinning coaster, opened Sept. 16 after a delay to add sound barriers. Expect long standby waits in the first weeks.
Disney park changes: "it's a small world" closes Oct. 30, Olaf Draws! opens
Disneyland's "it's a small world" closes Oct. 30 to become "it's a small world" Holiday. Disney hasn't given a reopening date. Last year the ride reopened Nov. 13, which is also when the resort's holiday season starts. Families visiting in the last days of October will miss the ride in both forms, so flag it for late-October Halloween Time trips and offer earlier dates.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, Olaf Draws! opened Sept. 14 inside The Magic of Disney Animation, with a new Olaf Audio-Animatronics figure. The class teaches nine characters, including Mickey, Moana and Stitch, through prerecorded lessons from Disney animators. It's an air-conditioned, low-wait option for families with younger children. Early reception is positive, though some guests miss a live instructor.
Disneyland Paris: Disney Village dining and character meets shift through 2027
Disney Village is being reset in phases, so set dining and character-meet expectations for the next several months.
- A new Disney Wonders shop opens Sept. 22.
- Casa Giulia, an Italian restaurant, opens at the end of 2026.
- Vapiano will be refurbished from late 2026 and will add a children's play area.
- Annette's Diner is closed until 2027.
- The Pathé cinema renovation continues in phases.
- The Pixar meet-and-greet is displaced by the Crush's Coaster refurbishment, so Woody meets in the former Barrel of Monkeys shop.
Families booking Paris this winter should plan on fewer sit-down options in the Village, and on character meets that have moved.
Agency air sales hit an August record of $9.8B
U.S. travel-agency air ticket sales set an August record of $9.8 billion, with 25.8 million passenger trips, up 5% from a year earlier. The source gave only the headline figures.
The practical read for advisors is that clients are still booking air through agencies. That supports pitching air as an add-on to Disney, Universal and cruise packages rather than leaving clients to book it themselves.
