Luxury lines re-map their product while polar capacity gets sold years ahead

Silversea folds 17 suite types into four and Regent plans to trim Explorer-class capacity by about 10%, while HX's 2028/29 season and a shared Travelmarvel-Quark polar newbuild push expedition inventory out to 2029. A fire at the new Whittier dock adds a risk to 2027 Alaska sailings.

Silversea collapses 17 suite types into four categories

Silversea has reorganised its fleet into four suite categories: Oceanview, Veranda, Residence and Villa. They have been bookable since Sept. 16. Enhanced Residence and Villa benefits apply to sailings from Jan. 1, 2027. They include spa reservations from 210 days out, dining reservations from 150 days out, priority embarkation and private transfers with air.

For advisors, the work is re-mapping existing inventory and quotes to the new labels, and rebuilding the upsell pitch around the top two tiers. The source cuts off before detailing expedition-voyage benefits, so confirm whether those match the ocean fleet before promising anything on polar or Galapagos sailings.

HX opens 2028/29 with 26 new trips; Travelmarvel and Quark to share a polar newbuild

HX Expeditions has published its 2028/29 season with 26 new itineraries. It is the first major operator in over a decade to use Stanley in the Falklands as an Antarctic gateway, which cuts transit time. The season adds a 19-day Antarctica and South Georgia voyage, 8-day Inside Passage trips, a 17-day Aleutians voyage, and a Baffin Island circumnavigation with the Northwest Passage. HX also schedules a record 23 Svalbard departures in 2028 and a first Scandinavia program. Advisors selling far ahead can start pitching now.

Separately, Travelmarvel and Quark Expeditions will share a 99-suite PC6 ice-class ship under a 10-year charter. It would sail the Mediterranean for Travelmarvel and Antarctica for Quark from the 2029-30 season. Ship name, specs and itineraries are still to come.

Aurora Expeditions: 27 Antarctic voyages, with science on 11

Aurora Expeditions will run 27 voyages in the 2026-27 Antarctic season on three ships, each capped at 130 passengers. Trips run 9 to 34 days and reach South Georgia, East Antarctica and the Ross Sea.

The selling angle is science at sea. Eighteen scientists will work on five projects across 11 voyages, including a colossal squid search on the Jan. 7, 2027 Epic Antarctica departure. For advisors placing clients into remaining 2026-27 space, the science content gives a concrete reason to choose Aurora over a like-for-like small-ship itinerary. Check availability on the science-hosting departures first.

Quark changes repeat-guest loyalty and adds a groups module for advisors

Quark has replaced its Shackleton Club with Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers, earned at a guest's second, third and fourth expedition. Benefits include offboard booking offers of $750 to $1,250, cabin upgrade priority and 25% to 50% off adventure options. Platinum adds flexible rebooking and 25% off pre/post packages. Because the rewards encourage repeat guests to rebook onboard, check how they interact with commission and client ownership.

Quark has also added a Groups & Charters module to its PolarPRO advisor training. Groups start at six guests on select voyages, with discounts from 5%, complimentary berths on larger groups and a dedicated specialist. Full private charters are available. It suits reunion, alumni and photography groups.

Regent plans a UK trade preview on Prestige and a 10% Explorer-class capacity cut

Regent Seven Seas will host UK trade on a May 25-27 Southampton round trip aboard Seven Seas Prestige, with incentives promised for trade places. Its president calls the UK a key part of the growth plan.

The commercial point is supply. Explorer-class ships will be re-categorised, with one dry-dock in 2027 and two in 2028, cutting capacity by about 10%. Tighter inventory should support pricing on those ships, so advisors with clients eyeing 2027-28 sailings have reason to book earlier.

One discrepancy: one source gives the Prestige debut as December 2026, while the Travel Weekly interview says December 2027. Verify before quoting clients. The ship will also debut the Solmar Terrace venue and a new Prime 7 menu.

Whittier dock fire clouds 2027 Alaska, as Seabourn sells Encore with Denali

Alaska's fire marshal has called the new Huna Totem pier at Whittier a total loss after a fire. The owner says it still aims to be operational for 2027. Whittier is a turnaround port, including for HX's new 17-day Aleutians voyage that ends there. Advisors holding 2027 Alaska bookings, including small-ship and luxury sailings, should watch for port substitutions or itinerary changes.

In the same market, Seabourn Encore returns to Alaska in 2027 with 18 sailings of 7 to 15 days, May to September. Select Juneau to Vancouver sailings can add a 7-night Denali land program covering hotels, meals, flightseeing and transfers. Complimentary Helly Hansen jackets are offered, and Premium Suites get Swarovski binoculars.

Lindblad air credit and National Geographic private-jet discounts

Lindblad is offering a $2,000 air credit on 2027 Japan, Antarctica and Patagonia departures. The source is headline-only, so confirm whether it is per person or per booking, which departures qualify and the booking deadline before quoting. It comes in the same week Lindblad shares fell about 4% amid macro concerns over discretionary spending.

National Geographic Expeditions is offering up to $5,000 per person off select 2028 private jet expeditions, with an extra $2,500 for returning guests. Booking closes Dec. 17, 2026. It also launches Tasting the World by Private Jet, a 23-day food itinerary departing April 28, 2028. The deadline gives advisors with high-end clients a reason to close early.

Ponant Explorations adds Carita spa services across the fleet

Ponant Explorations has signed an exclusive partnership with Parisian beauty house Carita. Its treatments and wellness rituals start on Le Commandant Charcot in September 2026 and are due to reach all 12 ships by February 2027.

It does not change price or commission, but it gives advisors a differentiator when pitching Ponant to wellness-minded polar and expedition clients. It also matches Ponant's other onboard partnership moves. When quoting, confirm which ships have the service live, since the rollout is staged.
