Three loyalty promos for the fourth quarter, each with a catch
Marriott Bonvoy: Amex Membership Rewards US points convert at a 35% bonus through Dec 10, so 1,000 points become 1,350. The bonus points don't count toward elite qualification, and the offer only pays off if the client has a strong redemption lined up.
ALL Accor+: Existing ibis and Voyager subscribers get 5,000 points (€100) or 9,000 points (€180) on eligible stays booked by Nov 20 and taken by Jan 22, 2027. New subscribers qualify only if based in Europe, North Africa or the Americas. Bookings must go through Accor channels (all.com, the app, the reservation centre or the hotel directly), so advisor-made reservations may not qualify.
IHG: The global double/triple points offer (stays Oct 1–Dec 31) stacks with 3X promos on voco and Garner (stays Oct 6–Dec 6). The global offer pays only from the second stay.
Lufthansa Group pushes back Dubai; Riyadh hub moves to Qassim
Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings have postponed Dubai service resumption until Nov 25. Separately, Riyadh airport was closed for about two weeks, and Saudia and Riyadh Air have temporarily moved Riyadh operations to Qassim, 350–400 km away.
This is an airline story, but it bears directly on Gulf hotel bookings. Stays, stopovers and connecting itineraries, including at Anantara, Jumeirah, Mandarin Oriental and Kempinski properties, may need rerouting. Advisors should check which carriers and routes each client's booking depends on, particularly for travel before Nov 25.
Indian regulator fines Shangri-La Eros Delhi over default service charge
India's consumer regulator, the CCPA, fined Shangri-La Eros Delhi ₹1 lakh for adding a 10% service charge to food bills automatically. It rejected the hotel's argument that the charge was optional and found that making guests ask for its removal is an unfair trade practice. Reports also note that customers were charged GST on the added amount.
The fine is small, but it signals that default service charges at Indian hotels are drawing enforcement. That could change the final cost of F&B-heavy stays for clients.
Hyatt signs two Hyatt Regency hotels in Bengaluru with Brigade Group
Hyatt and Brigade Group have signed management agreements for two Hyatt Regency hotels in Bengaluru. They add about 600 rooms: 350 at Brigade Global Park and 250 on Whitefield-Kadugodi Road. Both come with large meetings and events space.
The deals expand World of Hyatt's presence in a key Indian business and MICE market. They are pipeline signings, not openings, so they matter for future group business rather than current inventory.
Shangri-La Singapore reopens its refurbished Valley Wing
Shangri-La Singapore has unveiled its refurbished Valley Wing with two Presidential Suites. Rooms start from S$764++ per night. The wing has its own driveway, lobby and lounge, and its Shangri-La Suite, at 348 sq m, is the hotel's largest.
Advisors selling luxury Singapore stays now have a refreshed premium product with a published rate point to quote.
One member's Marriott Best Rate Guarantee complaint
A Lifetime Platinum member reports that a Best Rate Guarantee claim sat unprocessed for five days. Marriott changed the terms three months ago so that adjustments are no longer confirmed by email.
This is a single anecdote, not a pattern. Still, advisors who rely on BRG for rate disputes should keep their own documentation of the lower rate and the claim submission, and shouldn't count on prompt adjustments.
