Intrepid's UK trade sales rise 31% as CEO eyes more European acquisitions
Intrepid says the UK is now its fastest-growing market, up 16%, with business through travel agents up 31%. The CEO says the operator is expanding its trade team and looking for further European acquisitions after buying Sawadee Reizen and Altaï.
For advisors, that means a bellwether small-group operator is putting resources behind the agent channel. The acquisitions are worth watching, because they could change product and contracting terms over time.
The Middle East disruption hit March–May bookings, but June rebounded strongly. A separate report puts Canadian bookings up 48%, which suggests the trade-led growth is not limited to the UK.
Intrepid adds 80-plus trips for 2027, with Europe demand leading
Intrepid's 2027 range includes more than 80 new trips across 50-plus new destinations. It features 15 new family trips and new Europe destinations: Picos de Europa, Lyngen Alps, Aviemore and Imotski. Premium cycling in Norway and Rwanda is also new.
Intrepid reports European bookings up 49% year on year. That supports selling lesser-known, closer-to-home active trips to clients who want a short-haul option.
The family trips are a ready angle for multigenerational and school-holiday enquiries.
G Adventures and EF Adventures with Backcountry set 2027 offerings
G Adventures announced its 2027 FAM lineup for Canadian advisors. Trips cover Ecuador, Guatemala, China, Turkey, Bali/Komodo and Madeira hiking. The operator is also highlighting its agent discounts and G Dollars incentive. The FAMs are open to Canadian advisors only.
Separately, EF Adventures and Backcountry launched a co-branded collection of guided hiking and multi-adventure tours departing in 2027. Destinations include the US Southwest, Norway, the Dolomites and Patagonia. Each traveler is assigned a Backcountry gear expert before departure, which makes it a bundled, gear-supported option for first-time hikers.
The sources give no commission or pricing details for the EF Adventures collection, so check terms with the supplier before pitching it.
