Slovenia's Michelin Circuit Adds a Bed to the Table

A cluster of Slovenia's Michelin-starred kitchens is formalizing what used to be an insider workaround: pairing the tasting menu with a bed for the night. Hiša Franko, long a pilgrimage stop for serious eaters, now runs its own 1861 guesthouse alongside the restaurant, while Chalet Sofija is packaging overnight access to its table at roughly $1,370 a night. For advisors, this is the missing piece that turns Slovenia from a day-trip add-on into a genuine anchor for a Soča Valley-to-Julian Alps experiential program — foraging, wine, and forest-driven cuisine with dedicated lodging attached, rather than clients commuting in from Ljubljana or across the border from Italy. It's early: capacity is tiny and reservations bundle fast. Worth building into 2027 DMC proposals now, before general demand catches up to what is currently a very small, very bookable circuit.
