Explora Journeys grows the fleet and the loyalty math
Explora Journeys took delivery of Explora III in Genoa on July 22, the brand's first enlarged, LNG-capable hull — 461 suites, more gross tonnage, and a second Owner's Residence alongside expanded Ocean Residence and Penthouse categories. The ship enters revenue service Aug. 3 with an inaugural season spanning Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and New England, followed by the brand's first-ever Alaska season in 2027 — new inventory and new regions advisors can quote today, with Explora IV, V (debuting in Asia in 2028) and VI still to complete the six-ship fleet. Separately, Hilton pulled Explora into its Honors program: bookings made through Hilton now earn 10 points per dollar on fares plus a 5% discount, with Diamond and Diamond Reserve members layering on Journey Experience Credits and bridge tours. For advisors with Hilton-loyal clients, that's a concrete rate lever alongside the new ship's Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Caribbean and North America sailings.
Silversea pairs a dated culinary collection with a longer-lead golf bet
Silversea opened two new product lines this week. S.A.L.T. Culinary Voyages debuts as seven dated Silver Dawn and Silver Spirit sailings running Aug. 27–Oct. 25, tracing Portugal, Spain, France and the UK with exclusives clients can't book independently — private port-blending in the Douro Valley, a Michelin-chef lunch at Château du Prince Noir — landing squarely in the current autumn booking window. Separately, a new PerryGolf partnership bundles guaranteed tee times, green fees, transfers and equipment handling into fares for itineraries from Southampton (Aug. 2027), Barcelona (Oct./Nov. 2027) and a Sydney–Auckland sailing (Jan./Feb. 2028), with rounds at courses including Royal Liverpool and Ryder Cup host Camiral. The culinary collection is sellable now; the golf product is a longer-lead upsell for course-focused clients willing to commit more than a year out. Together they give advisors two distinctly themed, all-inclusive angles to work against Silversea's core itinerary base.
Regent's anniversary sale ties a hard deadline to a new flagship preview
Regent Seven Seas is marking 35 years with an Anniversary Collection carrying a firm deadline: book by Aug. 31 for up to 35% off and a complimentary $350 shipboard credit per suite across 35 sailings on all six ships. The collection includes a preview of the brand's next-generation flagship, Seven Seas Prestige, debuting with a 12-night Los Angeles–Panama City sailing. For advisors, this is a rare pairing of urgency and product news — a firm close-by date attached to real savings, plus first access to inventory on a new ship class ahead of wider release. Worth flagging to clients weighing Regent against Silversea or Explora this booking cycle, since the discount and credit stack meaningfully on suite categories, and early Prestige sailings will likely book down fastest.
Historic Hurtigruten ship damaged, drops a Shetland call
The historic 104-passenger Hurtigruten ship Nordstjernen struck a quay while in the yard at Gdańsk and will now skip its Aug. 10 call at Lerwick in Shetland while repairs are assessed. The vessel runs small-ship Arctic and Svalbard departures, and the damage raises the chance of further itinerary changes beyond this single canceled port. Advisors with clients booked on the affected sailing — or nearby ones — should check directly with Hurtigruten for compensation terms or revised port calls rather than assume a one-off adjustment; damage assessments on older tonnage can extend timelines before a fix is confirmed.
