Small-group operators widen their range as the season and the supplier map shift

G Adventures adds a football-trip line and publishes filings that show its post-Covid recovery, while an Austrian glacier season and a compressed Dhaulagiri window show how weather is reshaping adventure product. Eco-lodge and Uganda extension openings give advisors new inventory to pitch.

G Adventures adds football trips and shows its financials

G Adventures has launched 'Away Games', a small-group football collection with VIP match tickets and local guides. Departures run from October 2026 to May 2027. The pitch is a ticket-scam-free way to see matches, and it suits solo travelers and groups of strangers. The operator's own research found 64% of fans would travel with people they don't know.

Separately, Skift's look at UK and Canadian filings gives advisors a read on supplier health. The UK filing reports revenue of roughly $447M. The article traces the recovery from Covid, the 2023 holding-company structure (G Travel Community) and leadership under CEO Ben Perlo. For advisors placing client deposits, that is useful context. The football line is a new, sellable product for sports-minded clients.

Heatwave nearly triples Austrian crevasse falls

Austria recorded 19 crevasse incidents from May to September, against a 10-year average of 7. A heatwave stripped the snowpack, and glacier routes were closed. Overall accident numbers rose, though deaths fell to 62.

Advisors selling guided alpine, hut-to-hut or glacier itineraries should expect route changes. Ask operators about their risk protocols and insurance requirements. Doing this now gives time to adjust 2027 planning.

Dhaulagiri teams push to Camp 3 as the autumn window opens

After the late-September storm, stable weather has brought large Nepal outfitters, including 14 Peaks and Seven Summit Treks, back on the mountain. Teams are heading to Camp 3, and some aim to summit before 15 October. The season is compressed, which affects timing and risk for clients on Himalayan expeditions and Nepal trekking this autumn. Advisors with clients in Nepal should check in with operators on schedule flexibility.

Uganda: a low-impact zone in Murchison Falls

A new 75,000-hectare low-impact zone in Murchison Falls National Park has only two lodges so far, including the newly opened Kulu Ora on the Nile. For advisors selling Uganda gorilla trips, it is an extension with low visitor density and lions in the Kisangani Plains. The source gives no pricing, so confirm rates with suppliers.
