Ultra-Luxury Lines Rewrite the 2027–2028 Season

Explora Journeys is reshaping its 2027–2028 program on two fronts at once. The line has begun altering port calls and routing on a number of 2027-2028 sailings because of the security situation in the Middle East — a change advisors with clients already booked on affected voyages should flag now, before flight ticketing and pre/post hotel plans lock in. At the same time, Explora is pushing outward: Explora III is deploying to Singapore, Japan and Vietnam, with fares starting around $760 a night, giving advisors fresh Asia inventory and a concrete price benchmark against Silversea, Seabourn and Regent. The line has also added winter sailings running from Patagonia to the Mediterranean for 2027-28. Silversea's 2027 Mediterranean season leans into time ashore rather than transit. Five ships will call across more than 100 destinations, with the line adding more overnight stays and longer port days throughout the deployment. For advisors, that's a tangible differentiator against mainstream Mediterranean cruising: clients get extended time to explore ports rather than a rushed day-stop, and the added overnights create natural openings to sell pre- or post-cruise extensions. It's a useful hook when pitching 2027 Med sailings against competitors still running tighter port schedules, and worth raising with clients who've felt rushed ashore on past Mediterranean itineraries — the structural change, not just the itinerary map, is the story to lead with.

Seabourn has added a 30-day Amazon Explorer sailing to its 2028 calendar as part of the line's Ruby Jubilee season. The Miami round-trip aboard Seabourn Quest includes an overnight in Manaus, giving guests unusually deep time on the river rather than a brief detour folded into a broader itinerary. Positioned just ahead of Seabourn's 138-day world cruise, the voyage reads as a premium, standalone booking for clients who want the Amazon without committing to a longer world-cruise itinerary. For advisors, it's a new product to put in front of expedition-minded ultra-luxury clients now, well ahead of 2028 — early positioning matters for a niche, long-format sailing like this, and the Manaus overnight is a concrete selling point on early cabin-availability calls.

Quark Expeditions and Travelmarvel have confirmed a new 99-suite PC6 ice-class vessel, chartered to Travelmarvel for a 10-year term, entering Quark's Antarctic program alongside separate Mediterranean seasons under the Travelmarvel brand. Delivery isn't expected until the 2029-30 season, but the announcement is a capacity signal worth tracking now: new ice-class tonnage entering Antarctic expedition cruising affects how tightly allocation gets rationed in the years ahead. Advisors booking Antarctic clients on longer lead times should note it as one more data point on future supply, even though it won't change availability for the next several seasons.
