Trafalgar Adds River Cruising to Its Lineup
Trafalgar, the escorted-touring flagship of TTC Tour Brands (alongside Insight Vacations, Luxury Gold, and Costsaver), has launched its first river cruise product, sailing the Rhine. TTC's Melissa DaSilva framed the move as an extension of Trafalgar's guided-touring DNA onto the water rather than a pivot away from coach touring — the line is leaning on its existing land-tour service model, local specialists, and included excursions to differentiate the product in a crowded river cruise field dominated by Viking, AmaWaterways, and Avalon.
For advisors, this opens a new commissionable itinerary type sold through a supplier relationship many already have in place. A hands-on review of the inaugural Rhine sailing found the onboard experience closely mirrors Trafalgar's coach-tour style — included sightseeing, a similar pace, and familiar Be My Guest-style local encounters — making it a logical upsell for past Trafalgar guests curious about river cruising but hesitant to switch brands.
