Trafalgar Adds River Cruising to Its Portfolio, Starting on the Rhine
Trafalgar, TTC Tour Brands' flagship escorted-tour label, has launched its first river cruise product, debuting on the Rhine. It's a notable category expansion for a brand advisors have long sold purely as motorcoach touring, and it opens a new cross-sell path: clients who've done Trafalgar's guided tours of Europe now have an in-brand river option rather than being referred elsewhere.
TravelAge West got an early look, both through a hands-on sailing review and an interview with TTC's Melissa DaSilva, who spoke to how the itinerary is structured and how it's being positioned relative to Trafalgar's existing guided-tour lineup. For advisors, the launch means a new line item to learn — pricing tier, cabin categories, shore excursion style, and how heavily it leans on Trafalgar's signature "be my guest" local-immersion elements versus a more conventional river cruise format. Early positioning suggests TTC wants this sold as a natural next step for repeat Trafalgar guests, not a standalone product competing against the likes of Avalon or Viking.
