Trafalgar Wades Into River Cruising

TTC Tour Brands has put Trafalgar — its flagship escorted-coach label — into river cruising for the first time, debuting on the Rhine. It's a category departure that gives advisors a fresh upsell path for land-tour clients drifting toward cruise, and puts Trafalgar in more direct competition with Globus family's Avalon Waterways.

Trafalgar's First River Cruise Puts TTC in Avalon's Lane

Trafalgar has launched its first river cruise product, sailing the Rhine, marking the first time TTC Tour Brands' flagship escorted-coach label has moved into river cruising. TTC Tour Brands' Melissa DaSilva framed the launch as a way to keep repeat Trafalgar, Insight, Luxury Gold, and Costsaver clients inside the TTC portfolio once they're ready to trade coach seats for a cabin, rather than losing them to a competing river line. A hands-on review of the inaugural Rhine sailing found the onboard product leaning on Trafalgar's familiar guided-touring DNA — local specialists, included excursions, be-my-guest style experiences — translated into a river format. For advisors, the launch is a concrete new cross-sell conversation with loyal Trafalgar guests and positions TTC to compete more directly with Globus family's Avalon Waterways and other operator-owned river brands for that same repeat-client base.
