TTC Rewrites the Groups Playbook as Tauck Bets Big on 2027

TTC Tour Brands overhauled group-booking mechanics across Trafalgar, Insight and Costsaver on the same day Tauck signaled an aggressive 2027 expansion of its Roam and river programs — two operators moving on terms and inventory while Collette opens its advisor toolbox and USTOA lobbies Washington on paid vacation time.

TTC Locks Group Pricing, Lowers the Bar for Small-Group Holds

TTC Tour Brands has rebuilt its groups programme across Trafalgar, Insight and Costsaver, and the changes go straight into how advisors quote. Group pricing is now locked at time of reservation rather than floating until departure, and deposit/release timelines have been simplified — fewer moving parts to track against a client's payment schedule. Custom Groups (15+ pax) get expanded support through dedicated Groups Specialists, useful for affinity and reunion bookings that need hands-on structuring. The more immediately useful shift for day-to-day selling: holds can now be placed on Small Groups of just 9-10 guests, down from higher thresholds previously, opening group mechanics to smaller client clusters that wouldn't have qualified before. Advisors working group business on any of the three brands should update quoting templates now — the locked-pricing detail in particular changes what can be promised to a client before final payment.

Tauck Signals a Heavy 2027 Push, With a Rivers Contingency Playbook for Right Now

Tauck is building out its 2027 lineup with intent: Roam by Tauck, its multi-continent line aimed at 40s/50s travelers, expands from a handful of trips to 12; women-only departures more than double, from 3 to 7 itineraries; and a new Croatian Coast Family Voyage adds to the family-travel slate. Two new custom riverboats are also coming, backing continued confidence in river as a growth category — river booking pace is already running 20-25% ahead of prior year. That confidence is being tested in the near term: low water on the Rhine and Danube is disrupting current sailings, and Tauck's contingency playbook — land-based Budapest hotel stays and transfers to sister ships — is worth knowing before a client calls asking what happens if their river cruise gets rerouted this month.

Collette Opens Its Advisor Toolbox Aug. 13

Collette is running a live training session, informally billed as "Kelsie's Office Hours," on August 13 to walk advisors through MyCollette, the Travel Advisor Portal, e-brochures and its newer AI tools, with live Q&A built in. Advisors who register but can't attend get an on-demand replay, so there's no reason to skip signing up even against a packed mid-August calendar. It's a low-lift way to shave time off booking and marketing workflows with one of the larger named escorted operators in this segment, and worth a quick internal note to any team members newer to Collette's back-end tools.

USTOA Backs Federal Paid-Vacation Bill

USTOA has formally endorsed a federal bill that would guarantee paid vacation time for American workers — a structural demand play rather than a booking-window story. If enacted, guaranteed PTO would expand the pool of travelers with dedicated time to actually use escorted and packaged product, which is the logic behind the association's advocacy alongside its existing $1M Travelers Assistance Program. There's no near-term commercial action item here, but it's worth tracking as part of USTOA's broader lobbying posture — the kind of long-horizon demand signal that matters more to operators' planning than to next quarter's quotes.
