New Tonnage, New Perks, and a Closing Window in Luxury Cruising

EXPLORA III has entered service, the third of Explora Journeys' six-ship fleet. After a five-night Mediterranean prelude beginning July 24, the ship is named in Barcelona on Aug. 1 and opens its inaugural season Aug. 3 across Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and New England — with Explora Journeys' first Alaska season confirmed for 2027 and an Asia debut (Explora V) set for 2028. New suite inventory includes a second Owner's Residence and expanded Ocean Residences and Penthouses. Separately, Hilton Honors now covers every Explora sailing: bookings made through Hilton earn 10 points per dollar on fares, carry a 5% discount, and count toward elite-status qualification, with Diamond and Diamond Reserve members adding Journey Experience Credits, bridge tours and private transfers. For advisors, that's a new cross-loyalty lever with Hilton-affiliated clients on top of fresh dated inventory running through 2028.

Regent Seven Seas is marking its 35th anniversary with an Anniversary Collection spanning 35 sailings across Mariner, Voyager, Explorer, Splendor, Grandeur and the newly arriving Seven Seas Prestige. Guests who book any of these voyages by Aug. 31, 2026 lock in savings of up to 35% plus a $350 shipboard credit per suite — a firm deadline advisors can use now to close business before pricing reverts. Prestige's debut also opens a new ship class for Regent, with sailings scheduled through 2036, giving advisors a long runway of inventory to pair with the near-term promotion. For clients weighing Regent against Explora or Seabourn, the pitch is two-part: value now, a new ship later. Popular anniversary-priced categories are likely to sell down before the cutoff, so early confirmation matters more than usual here.

Silversea added two niche all-inclusive collections this week. S.A.L.T. Culinary Voyages debuts seven dated sailings between Aug. 27 and Oct. 25 aboard Silver Dawn and Silver Spirit, on Southampton–Lisbon and Lisbon round-trip routings timed to Europe's autumn grape harvest, with a Bordeaux chateau lunch, Douro port-blending and truffle hunts bundled into the fare. Separately, a PerryGolf-branded collection launches for 2027–28 — Southampton round-trip in August 2027, Barcelona round-trip in October/November 2027, and Sydney–Auckland in January/February 2028 — bundling guaranteed tee times, green fees, transfers and equipment handling into the cruise fare. The culinary sailings are the more urgent sell, departing within weeks; the golf voyages give a longer runway for golf-traveling clients. Together they show Silversea leaning further into themed, inclusion-heavy product to differentiate against Regent and Seabourn's standard all-inclusive fare.

The 104-passenger Nordstjernen, a historic vessel used on Hurtigruten's Svalbard and Arctic sailings, struck a quay in Gdańsk and will miss its Aug. 10 call at Lerwick in Shetland while repairs continue, with no resolution date yet announced. It's a small-capacity ship, but it's the one clear availability disruption among this week's cruise news. Advisors with clients booked on its near-term Arctic departures should contact Hurtigruten directly to confirm sailing status rather than assume the itinerary will run as sold, and should flag alternate Svalbard capacity if the repair timeline slips further into the season.
