Trafalgar Trailblazers Opens China FAM Applications — Deadline July 31
Trafalgar has launched Trafalgar Trailblazers, a standing agent-advocacy programme that gives select advisors first access to new itineraries before public release. The inaugural FAM is a 7-day Best of China Small Group Tour (Beijing–Xi'an–Shanghai) departing October 24–30 with international flights included — the clearest commercial hook in the programme's launch terms. Applications close July 31, leaving eight days to apply.
Selection criteria weight brand advocacy and social media reach, signalling that Trafalgar is formalising a tiered influencer-advisor relationship rather than running one-off FAM lotteries. Advisors who secure founding Trailblazer status gain priority access to future product-line FAMs as the programme expands. For TTC-aligned advisors, an all-in China FAM on a new small-group format makes this the highest-priority application window in today's cycle — the deadline alone justifies acting today rather than filing it for later.
Rhine and Danube Low Water Cancels Avalon Sailings, Triggers Multi-Operator Rewrites
Sustained heat and drought have pushed Rhine and Danube levels below navigable thresholds, producing confirmed operational disruptions across the river-cruise sector. Avalon Waterways has cancelled departures on July 12, 14, 15, 22, and 23 after Avalon Impression could not reach embarkation points. AmaWaterways, Trafalgar (vessels Verity and Reverie), Scenic, Emerald, and Uniworld are all issuing active itinerary-modification notices covering port substitutions, motorcoach transfers, ship rescheduling, and relocated embarkation and disembarkation points.
Advisors with clients on Rhine or Danube departures through late July and August should audit bookings immediately. Operators are contacting guests directly; advisors who reach clients before the operator notification arrives protect the relationship and reduce dispute exposure. The situation remains fluid — further cancellations are possible if drought conditions hold through August.
Collette University 201 Opens Intermediate Escorted-Tour Training
Collette has unveiled a 201-level curriculum within its Collette University agent-education platform, advancing beyond introductory product orientation to deeper escorted-tour selling technique. The intermediate tier targets advisors who have completed foundational Collette coursework and are ready to move from product knowledge to consultative conversion — the gap where escorted-tour revenue is typically won or lost.
Completing accredited coursework now, during a shoulder booking period, positions advisors for stronger fall and winter escorted-tour sales cycles. Collette's education tiers also typically unlock enhanced FAM priority and co-marketing access from one of USTOA's largest operators. For advisors building an escorted-tour book, 201-level accreditation is a low-cost investment with measurable upside at the supplier-relationship tier.
