New Water: AmaWaterways Debuts on the Magdalena as Tauck Bridges Opens a Croatian Yacht

AmaWaterways launches its first South American river program on Colombia's Magdalena just as Tauck Bridges releases a 34-guest Croatian coastal yacht for 2027 family itineraries — two suppliers stretching the category's geography in the same week, both with open inventory and concrete urgency signals attached.

AmaWaterways Enters South America With Colombia's Magdalena River

The Magdalena program is AmaWaterways' first foray onto a South American river, and it lands in a part of the market with no direct competitor overlap. For advisors whose adventure-luxury clients have already checked off Rhine, Danube, and Douro, this is a genuine next conversation — Colombia's biodiversity, cultural density, and relative inaccessibility by conventional touring create a premium narrative that doesn't require discounting to close.

Commission runs at AmaWaterways' standard river rate on what will almost certainly be a premium-priced departure. The first-mover window matters here: group space is easiest to hold before consumer awareness normalises pricing expectations. The product is unproven in the river segment, which means advisors should request a destination briefing from AmaWaterways before the client call — and be prepared to address logistics and destination safety proactively. That prep work is the price of selling something genuinely new.

Tauck Bridges 2027 Running 25% Ahead — Croatia Yacht Now Bookable

Tauck Bridges has released its full 2027 family portfolio, and demand is tracking more than 25% ahead of the same point last year. That figure is a real availability signal, not a marketing qualifier — European river sailings in particular are filling at pace, and any advisor who hasn't started summer 2027 family conversations is already running behind.

The portfolio's new addition is Lupus Mare, a 34-guest private yacht on Croatia's Dalmatian coast and the Adriatic. Departures run June through August 2027; pricing starts at $6,790 per person at triple occupancy with a minimum age of eight. No outside passengers board, giving families exclusive use of the vessel — a meaningful differentiator for clients who want the island-hopping experience without a large ship. Advisors should secure space holds on river dates first, then layer in the Croatia yacht as an alternative for clients priced out of or uninterested in river routing.

Riviera Adds Trade Support Hub; AmaWaterways Fills Quebec–Atlantic Canada Coverage Gap

Two suppliers made trade infrastructure moves this week. Riviera Travel has launched a dedicated Support Desk inside its Riviera Explorer portal, consolidating booking support, FAQs, incentive information, training materials, and direct trade-assistance requests across Riviera's river, ocean, yacht, and solo product lines. Advisors not yet registered at rivexplorer.com are missing access to campaign and incentive data in addition to the new support channel — registration is the prerequisite for all of it.

Separately, AmaWaterways has named Mathieu Robert as Business Development Manager for Quebec and Atlantic Canada. French-Canadian and Atlantic advisors who have operated without a dedicated AmaWaterways contact now have one: MathieuRobert@amawaterways.com. Advisors in that geography should establish the relationship before peak 2026/2027 selling season — group-space requests, FAM consideration, and co-op conversations all move faster with a named BDM than through a general channel.

A day led by genuine new-product news — one opening a continent, one adding a coastal yacht — alongside the kind of trade housekeeping that pays dividends quietly. The desk notes it is not a typical week when South America and Croatia appear in the same river cruise dispatch.
