Disney Vacation Club has rewritten its Home Resort Rules to close the practice known as 'reservation walking' — booking a confirmed reservation early, then nudging its dates forward night by night to extend availability beyond what a member's points would otherwise reach. Under the new language, a confirmed reservation's travel dates or room type can be modified only once its original checkout date falls within 11 months of the change. For advisors building long multigenerational Walt Disney World stays — the 10-, 12-, and 14-night bookings this segment specializes in — the 11-month window no longer guarantees a full stay locked down at once: the back half of a long trip stays exposed to competing members' requests while the front end is frozen. Sequence bookings earlier, and flag clients that changes to the tail end of a long stay now carry real risk of falling through.

Royal Caribbean has set the christening date for Legend of the Seas, its newest Icon-class ship: November 11 in Fort Lauderdale, with Lori Robinson named godmother. The ship begins Western and Southern Caribbean sailings from that homeport in November 2026, with calls at Perfect Day CocoCay built into the rotation. Advisors with clients holding pending or flexible Walt Disney World bookings have a narrow window before those numbers move — locking in current rates on tickets, packages, and passes now, rather than waiting for confirmation, protects clients from the increase once it lands.
