Disney Tightens Long-Term Pricing While Royal Caribbean Stacks a Ship, a Card, and a Build Milestone

Walt Disney World is on track for a fourth straight October Annual Pass hike even as it discounts near-term tickets and rooms, and Disney Cruise Line has flooded the calendar with 141 discounted sail dates through May 2027. Royal Caribbean moves in the opposite direction on inventory, debuting Legend of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale, launching a cross-brand Royal ONE card, and hitting a build milestone on its fifth Icon-class ship — all reasons for advisors to lock in current rates before they shift.

Disney's Pricing Is Splitting in Two Directions at Once

Walt Disney World has raised Annual Pass prices every October since 2023, and all signs point to a fourth straight increase next month — likely $20 to $100+ per tier, with the $1,629 Incredi-Pass most exposed. Advisors should prompt AP-holding clients to renew or upgrade now, before the current pricing locks in for another year.

At the same time, Disney is discounting near-term travel: a 4-Day/4-Park ticket starts at $109/day, and stays of five nights or more at select Disney Resort hotels for arrivals through Oct. 3 carry up to 30% off, tied to the Sept. 21 EPCOT anniversary promotion. The contrast is the story — sell the discounted window now, and set expectations for passholders about what October likely brings.

Disney Cruise Line Opens Up 141 Discounted Sail Dates

Disney Cruise Line has published discounts across 141 sailing dates running through May 2027, spanning all six ships in the fleet. The breakdown includes Florida resident rates, military fares, Canadian resident pricing, and IGT/OGT/VGT group-style codes, plus concierge onboard-credit bumps on select sailings.

For advisors, this is inventory to act on rather than read about: specific ships, specific sail dates, and stackable rate codes that can be quoted directly to family clients shopping 2026 and early 2027 cruises. With that much of the calendar discounted at once, positioning clients early — before the most popular sail dates and cabin categories close out — matters more than it usually would this time of year.

Royal Caribbean's Fall Trifecta: New Ship, New Card, New Build

Royal Caribbean's third Icon-class ship, Legend of the Seas, makes its U.S. debut in Fort Lauderdale this fall, with a Veterans Day godmother ceremony on Nov. 11 naming retired Gen. Lori J. Robinson, the first woman to lead a U.S. combatant command. The ship sails 6-night Western and 8-night Southern Caribbean itineraries, giving advisors a new Icon-class product for winter Caribbean family bookings.

Royal Caribbean Group also launched Royal ONE, a Bank of America/Visa credit card spanning Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Silversea, with 3x/4x point tiers and a $99 Plus tier — a fresh loyalty angle for offsetting onboard spend. Separately, construction has reached a milestone on the line's fifth Icon-class ship, confirming the family-ship pipeline keeps expanding well past Legend of the Seas.

Reign of Kong Closes Indefinitely at Islands of Adventure

Universal's Skull Island: Reign of Kong has closed indefinitely after animatronic damage, with no reopening date announced. The attraction is a marquee draw for family itineraries built around Islands of Adventure, and its unplanned outage means advisors should flag the closure now rather than let clients discover it on arrival.

Until Universal issues a timeline, touring plans should route around Skull Island and reset expectations for guests who booked specifically around it. This is a genuine unplanned outage rather than a routine refurbishment, so there's no posted return date to share yet — worth a check-in closer to travel dates for anyone with an Islands of Adventure day already on the books.

Disney Tests Its Own AI Trip Planner

Disney World has begun beta testing an AI-assisted planning tool that lets guests search flexible dates, compare resorts, and get personalized recommendations directly through Disney's own channels, without an advisor in the loop. It's early stage, but it's a direct move into the trip-curation space advisors have traditionally owned.

Worth watching rather than reacting to yet: the tool is in beta, not a full rollout, and Disney has a long history of testing planning features that never scale broadly. Still, advisors should note the direction — direct-to-consumer AI planning is now something Disney itself is building, not just a third-party trend, and it's worth tracking as it moves beyond beta.

Magic of Disney Animation Reopens at Hollywood Studios

The Magic of Disney Animation has reopened at Disney's Hollywood Studios, reimagined with the Once Upon a Studio Theater, new character meet-and-greets, and expanded play areas, plus an opening-day 60-character group photo across the resort and limited-edition pins marking the occasion.

For advisors building Hollywood Studios days into family itineraries, this is a freshly reopened, guest-ready pavilion to add now rather than a future promise — a useful anchor for families with younger kids looking for character interaction beyond the park's thrill-ride lineup.
