Trafalgar Adds River Cruising to the TTC Portfolio
Trafalgar has launched its first river cruise product, sailing the Rhine, in what marks the brand's first step beyond coach-based escorted touring since its founding. TTC Tour Brands executive Melissa DaSilva framed the move as an extension of Trafalgar's existing land-touring DNA rather than a pivot away from it, giving advisors a way to cross-sell current Trafalgar, Costsaver, Insight, and Luxury Gold clients into a new category without sending them to a competing brand. A firsthand sailing review of the Rhine itinerary describes a product built to feel consistent with Trafalgar's coach touring style — guided, all-inclusive, and paced for first-time river cruisers. For advisors, the near-term open questions are commission parity with land programs and how aggressively TTC markets the product against entrenched river players like Tauck, AmaWaterways, and Globus's Avalon Waterways. Worth flagging to clients who've aged out of coach touring but want to stay loyal to the brand.
