Explora Journeys Reroutes and Expands at Once
Explora Journeys is revising 2027–2028 itineraries in response to Middle East tensions, with port substitutions and routing changes affecting sailings booked well in advance. Advisors with clients on those voyages should get ahead of the changes now, before final-payment and air-booking deadlines force reactive conversations instead of proactive ones. The MSC-owned ultra-luxury brand is simultaneously expanding: a third ship, Explora III, joins the fleet with all-suite, terrace-cabin accommodations starting around $760 a night, undercutting the entry price of established ultra-luxury competitors. A new winter season adds deployments from Patagonia through the Mediterranean and into Asia, with calls in Singapore, Japan, and Vietnam. The net effect for advisors is a brand in flux on two fronts — itinerary disruption to manage on one hand, fresh inventory and a lower price point to sell on the other.
Silversea Slows Down the Mediterranean for 2027
Silversea's 2027 Mediterranean season deploys five ships across more than 100 ports, with a shift toward longer port stays and overnight calls designed to give small-ship access where large ships can't dock or must leave by evening. Overnights are set for Saint-Tropez and Portofino, plus deeper access to central Seville, letting guests experience destinations after day-trippers clear out. For advisors, this is a concrete differentiator against mass-market Mediterranean itineraries built around quick daytime stops: the pitch is time in place, not ports checked off a list, bundled into Silversea's all-inclusive fare. With planning already public more than a year out, advisors have a long runway to position 2027 Mediterranean sailings for clients who've done the big-ship Mediterranean before and want depth over breadth on their next trip.
Seabourn's 30-Day Amazon Voyage Marks 40 Years
Seabourn has unveiled a 30-day Amazon Explorer voyage for 2028, sailing round-trip from Miami with an overnight call in Manaus and stops across seven countries — a long-format river-and-coastal itinerary that's rare in the ultra-luxury segment. It's part of the line's 40th-anniversary Ruby Jubilee celebrations, which continue into a 138-day Iconic Islands World Cruise. Both are aimed squarely at top-tier repeat clients who've already sailed Seabourn's shorter itineraries and are looking for the next big commitment. Because 2028 sailings are being released now, advisors have an unusually long booking window to secure suite categories before availability tightens — worth raising with clients who ask about Amazon cruising, since few ultra-luxury lines offer an itinerary this long in the region.
