Wellness Travel Adds Medical Muscle — At Sea and On Land

Aman's Amangati floats out with the largest spa afloat in luxury yachting, opening 2027 Mediterranean and Caribbean bookings, while Cleveland Clinic lends its sports-medicine credentials to the NBA players' union's offseason retreat in Andalucía. Both moves show established luxury and clinical brands extending their credibility into new wellness-travel formats advisors will need to learn.

Amangati Floats Out, Putting Aman's Largest-Ever Spa on the Water

Aman's first ocean-going yacht, Amangati, completed its float-out this month, clearing the way to book its May 2027 debut voyage from Palma de Mallorca to Nice. The ship carries an 8,000-square-foot Aman Spa — the largest afloat in luxury yachting — with a dedicated Medi Spa, hammam and banya, making it a genuine wellness-cruise product rather than a spa attached to a conventional itinerary. Aman has also opened booking for a second season, sailing the Caribbean in autumn 2027, giving advisors two entry points before capacity tightens. For longevity- and spa-focused clients who want Aman's design language and treatment standards at sea, this is the first real chance to reserve it — and debut-sailing cabin categories tend to sell out well ahead of departure. Advisors with Aman loyalists or ultra-luxury spa travelers on their books should flag both itineraries now, even ten months out.

Cleveland Clinic Joins NBA Players' Union Retreat, a Model to Watch

The NBA players' union has named Cleveland Clinic medical partner for The Sanctuary, its offseason performance retreat in Andalucía, Spain, embedding sports-medicine research, biomechanics testing and regenerative-medicine protocols into the program. The retreat itself isn't advisor-bookable, but the partnership is worth tracking as a signal: a major clinical institution is lending its name and protocols to elite performance travel, the same credibility play longevity brands such as Clinique La Prairie and SHA Wellness have used to court high-net-worth clients. Expect this model — a recognized medical brand co-designing programming rather than simply consulting — to surface next in commercial executive-wellness and longevity retreat products that advisors do sell. It's worth watching which operators move first to line up comparable clinical tie-ups, and worth asking suppliers already active in the longevity space whether similar partnerships are in the works.

A quiet day by volume, but two data points worth filing: legacy luxury brands and clinical institutions are both reaching further into experiential wellness travel, and advisors should expect the trend to compound. — The Wellness Desk
