Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has gone cold on six dates as of today — Opening Night (Aug. 7), Aug. 11, Aug. 14, Aug. 18, Oct. 13, and Oct. 31 are all sold out, a pace that outstrips 2025 by at least two weeks. Universal has confirmed a six-day refurbishment closure for The Untrainable Dragon at Epic Universe from September 15–21. The show is the highest-capacity live entertainment offering in Isle of Berk and functions as a primary crowd-distribution tool for the land — when it's dark, queues concentrate on ride attractions.

The timing is the problem: Sept. 15–21 sits squarely in the early-school-year low-crowd window that advisors routinely pitch as the 'smart' time to visit Epic Universe with shorter waits. Clients traveling specifically for the How to Train Your Dragon experience lose the land's centerpiece show for the entire stay.

Advisor action: Disclose this proactively to any client with a mid-September Epic Universe trip. Guests motivated by the HTTYD experience should arrive before Sept. 15 or plan arrival for Sept. 22 or later. The closure is brief, but it overlaps with the highest-intent family travel dates in the fall shoulder period.

Since June 28, Disney has fully enforced the Disney Springs bus restriction: guests boarding resort-bound buses from Disney Springs must present proof of a current hotel reservation, dining reservation, or Enchanting Extras booking. The Grand Ceremonial House exterior refurbishment runs concurrently, bringing construction noise and alternate-routing inconvenience through October as well.

For advisors with clients booked at the Polynesian through fall, proactive resets are warranted now. Workable substitutes on the monorail loop: Narcoossee's patio at the Grand Floridian for waterfront cocktails, and Tambu Lounge (inside the Polynesian, still open) for lighter drinks without the outdoor tiki atmosphere.

More strategically: any client who selected the Polynesian specifically for the tiki bar experience — common among multi-gen groups with grandparents who remember the original — deserves an honest conversation about whether the property remains the right fit through October.

Aerial photos taken July 19–20 confirm that Jurassic Park River Adventure at Islands of Adventure has entered partial water-fill testing — a meaningful milestone for a ride targeting a November 20 reopening. More significantly, the images show the Ultrasaur animatronic with its full mechanical armature exposed and being replaced outright, not merely repaired. The long-criticized 'broken neck' pose from the ride's opening scene is being addressed at the root.

The Baby Stegosaurus has also received visible attention. Water testing this early in a November cycle is a strong confidence signal; if the schedule were slipping, testing would be deferred.

For advisors booking November Islands of Adventure itineraries, this is the credible 'why visit now' story: the park's flagship family water ride returns, and it returns with an animatronic suite that's materially better than what guests experienced before the closure. Useful selling point for repeat visitors who found the pre-refurb ride underwhelming.

A media sailing on the Disney Wish confirms three operationally dependable features that advisors should be explicitly promising to multi-generational groups — none are prominently marketed by DCL, but all are stateroom-host-facilitated on request:
