Trafalgar Trailblazers Opens China FAM Window — Apply by July 31
Trafalgar has converted brand advocacy into a formal, ongoing program: Trafalgar Trailblazers selects advisors who actively champion TTC and rewards them with hosted FAM access to new itineraries before those products reach paying clients. The inaugural hosted trip is the Oct 24–30 Best of China Small Group Tour, routing Beijing–Xi'an–Shanghai with international flights included. Applications close July 31 — a week away — making this the most time-sensitive item of the day.
Selection criteria center on demonstrated brand advocacy and an active social media presence rather than booking volume alone, so engaged sellers who aren't yet high-volume TTC producers can qualify. The itinerary sits within Trafalgar's capped-group Small Group Tours format, and participants gain firsthand product knowledge before any paying client experiences the departure — a material selling advantage on a destination where client confidence is still rebuilding.
Rhine and Danube Low Water: Avalon Cancels Sailings, Five Operators Issue Disruption Alerts
An extended European heat wave and well-below-normal rainfall have pushed Rhine and Danube levels to critical lows — and the cancellations are already on record. Avalon Waterways has pulled Avalon Impression departures on July 12, 14, 15, 22, and 23 because the vessel cannot access embarkation points.
Disruption notices — covering port changes, ship swaps, motorcoach substitutions, and itinerary modifications — have also issued from Trafalgar (Verity and Reverie), AmaWaterways, Scenic and Emerald (upper Danube including Budapest and the Regensburg–Passau stretch, plus portions of the Main and Rhine), and Uniworld.
Advisors should proactively contact any client sailing either river through at least early August: verify the operator's specific contingency plan, document what mitigation is being offered, and review force-majeure and rebooking terms before clients raise concerns. If the heat pattern holds, additional cancellations extending into August are probable.
Collette University 201's Add-Ons Module Targets Per-File Commission Gains
Collette has released a new Collette University 201 module built around a direct commercial premise: every commissionable enhancement attached to an existing booking is revenue that doesn't require finding a new client. The module covers pre- and post-tour hotel stays, destination extensions, the Travel Protection Plan, and the Transportation Package — all commissionable, all advisor-initiated.
Collette's framing positions these as personalized itinerary completions rather than generic upsells, and the curriculum includes a downloadable advisor guide plus peer-discussion threads on the Travel Advisor Network. For advisors already holding Collette bookings, the four enhancement categories represent incremental commission per file with minimal additional sales effort.
The module is live now in Collette University. Advisors enrolled in the 201 curriculum can access it immediately; those new to the platform complete the 101 foundation module first before unlocking the 201 track.
